WTA Members ID Card System PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 24 October 2007

The Whitegoods Trade Association is to issue ID cards to all its members in a new scheme set to begin rolling out in November 2007. The cards offer instant identity of a verified WTA member to anyone, primarily to enable people to quickly identify a quality engineer that works to the WTA Code Of Practice.

This gives the engineer's customers the reassurance that they are bona fide repairers and the security of knowing that they work to an industry agreed standard as well as being regulated. This is a case of the engineers working towards greater safety and reassurance for the public as well as discouraging rogue traders which are as damaging to the industry as they are to the public.

An example of the initial artwork for the ID cards is shown below, with kind permission from one of our members as the details shown are from a real business, so this is an accurate representation of the details that you should expect to see on a WTA membership ID.

As you can see there is a lot of information on the card which helps you to verify that the engineer calling to your home is exactly who they say they are. However, we have taken the concept one stage further as you can, during normal office hours (Mon-Fri/9am-5pm), call us to verify that the ID is current and genuine, a unique service in the industry.

The unique identification for each engineer registered on the scheme and this can be easily verified in a matter of minutes on the phone.

More news on the ID card system soon as the system is rolled out to our members.
