We have to apologise for the lack of any responses over the past couple of years or so and we can only hope that when we explain what’s happened that you can at least better understand why this came about.
After COVID, which completely halted all operations for well over a year, there was no possibility of any kind of meeting or conference taking place for at least a year beyond that, We checked and even in 2023 we couldn’t get a venue that would accept what we needed.
So, it was all put on the back burner and, as everyone is a volunteer dedicating their time freely and they all had other things to do after the COVID thing, the WTA took a back seat to everyone’s more pressing needs.
We then lost people over the time due to retirement, illness and so forth. Or, people were far too busy with their own lives in the wake of a two year shut down to do much for the WTA.
It just dwindled a bit because of all that stemmed from the disaster of COVID.
However, unbeknown to us until recently, we found out that our emails had “broken” and that nobody was getting any bar a couple of addresses that were team member addresses and specific to them alone.
The main ones, the ones for subscriptions, admin and so on were all going nowhere and nobody had been picking them up.
Of course, as it is a team effort and different people took on different responsibilities nobody tumbled to the fact there was no email at all coming in, everyone just thought it was dead due to all that had gone on in the past few years.
With no meetings or conferences going on, it wasn’t until later in 2024 that the venue we used really started to open back up again, everything was just “quiet”.
Fast forward to the late summer of 2025 and it was realised that there was a problem, at least two years had gone by with some things before the issue was discovered.
Obviously now we are in the process of remedying these issues but, fixing these and sifting through all that we have to in order to repair things might take a bit of time.
We are incredibly sorry for this and it shouldn’t have happened but, it has leaving us with little to offer but our sincerest apologies to anyone affected.
On the upside, now that we are aware of the problems we can address them and, we are in the process of doing that so as to try to ensure that this can never happen again.
