WTA Fuel Discount Scheme

In these times of soaring fuel costs, we are pleased to announce that WTA members are eligible for membership of a fuel discount scheme.

It promises a minimum saving of 2p/litre on any fuel purchase, with the possibility of more depending on market conditions with possible savings of up to 10p per litre for members.

Given that one of the major overheads of any service company is fuel, the WTA welcomes this initiative and especially thanks to Commitee Member Lawrence Carey for his work on this project.

February Meeting Scheduled

The next whitegoods meeting has been scheduled for February 29th 2008 to be held at the Millers Hotel in Sibson once more. Of course the meeting is open to non-members as well as members to attend and entrance is free, so you can attend easily.

We are looking forward to some new product introductions, news on what the TA has been up to over the past few months and how it is progressing forward. We will have some update on taking the COP forward and working with the OFT to improve standards as well as updates on technical information and what we are doing about it.

As usual we expect it to be a very interesting day for all who attend.

The elected group were of course massively enthusiastic and continue to drive the agenda of the WTA forward on a daily basis with ideas and strategies available in abundance in the effort to help the independents.

Over 350 Companies Use The WTA Code Of Practice

A few days ago it came to our attention that spare parts marketing company eSpares had started a scheme to offer fixed labour cost repairs to consumers. This now means with the members of the association as well as the companies that operate on repairs@ to the code of practice or indeed often an even higher standard, exceeds 350 businesses across the UK.

However we were somewhat flattered when we realised that the "charter" adopted by eSpares was none other than the UK Whitegoods Charter as it was originally known which evolved into the Whitegoods Trade Association Charter .

WTA Council Formed & Work Begins

&quo

At the recent meeting in Sibson the initial council to run the organisation was formed and it was agreed to leave the Advisory Council, which regulates the repairs@ system (used to fi nd a local engineer to repair appliance

s) as is for the moment. The thinking behind this is that the AC works well and has done for some time and there is no call to change something that is proven to work.
